hope your not producing it yourself, herd its a pain in the arse (scratches and chips easy when wet) also curling like you wouldn't believe.
GP3 seems pretty fine grained to me. It's a very flexible film.

Also I'm ready to drop kick my V500 off a tall building. Such a poorly made piece of crap for the price I paid for it.

I'm going to build my own film-copier using a box, anti-newton glass, and macro lens with bellows on a dSLR (the quality I've gotten from hand holding and a reverse 50mm) was amazing.

Does anyone know what sort of aperture adjustment needs to be made for a 2x centre-spot filter? I want to start using my Fuji G617, but I can't find a reliable answer. Thanks

I'm pretty sure they keep with the same scheme as other filters, so 2x = 1 stop, 4x = 2 stops, 8x = 3 stops etc. So for exposure calcs, add 1 stop if its a 2x filter.

Thanks mate! So just to clarify, if the meter gave an f/stop of 22 for a given shutter speed, I would shoot at f/16?

Yep, either 1 stop of aperture or shutter speed will do it. I think with large format lenses you generally stop down further for the best results (sharpness), more than you would 35mm format lenses. Not all the way the lens can go as you still get diffraction robbing sharpness at a point, but if you're talking around F22, I'd probably add a stop to the shutter speed before using a larger aperture.

Yeah, I think I'll be doing the majority of my landscape work at around f/32 with a a cable release, so it would make more sense to stop down the shutter speed. Thanks FH!

Speaking of scanners, what would be the 35mm and medium format scanner of choice? Sure there's Google, but I trust you guys more

Anything by Hasselblad :P But within more traditional budget constraints, I've heard the Nikon Coolscan 9000ED gives pretty good results.

2nd hand flextight or CoolScan 8000 or 9000.

Avoid flatbeds like the plague if you can, only consider buying one if you simply cant afford anything better for 120 (for 35mm only you have cheaper dedicated scanner options)

I wouldnt bother with the V500 again.. I would have gone something cheaper from Canon or an older Epson model... they haven't improved either the optics (shitty resolution) or sensors (lying about dMax, really shitty SNR, prone to forming permanent artifacts) since.. well.. never, well the optics are slightly better than low-end scanners which use pinhole lens arrays.

Just drying now, waiting to "scan" it in my very expensive hi-res scanner
