Default Vaio lcd hookup

I have a vaio vn-sz56gn that wont join up with any of the lcds/plasma vga connections in the house. It is not the screens or the cable as it works with my ibm.

I have a feeling it has todo with sony's anti piracy technology, as years back i remember i couldn't hook up a ony dvd with a non sony vcr.

Any help would be appreciated as i am trying to look at holiday snaps.
