Default Easiest way to power on a laptop without opening lid?

Hey guys I've got a Dell XPS 1530 and I'm using it with a Logitech BT keyboard/mouse combo but I can't seem to find anyway to turn the PC on from the keyboard, and I want to set it up in a place where it will be closed, and mostly used with an external monitor.

Is there any app I can use to power the laptop on from the keyboard, or something I can buy like one of those USB remote starters or something?

You might run into a similar thing as I did, whereby the PC won't POST with the lid closed.

On my Acer notebook, if i say initialized a reboot with closed the lid, it would powerdown properly, hit the POST screen, and then power off. This used to shit me to no end, when using external keyboard/monitor, and I set off a reboot, and went to get another coffee.

Even if you hit the power button with the lid switch closed, it would power on, get partway through the POST and power off again.

I couldn't find any way around that short of breaking the lid switch.

Ta guys, I'll check if there's a model specific port rep for the 1530 otherwise I guess I'll have to go generic? Wish there was a cheaper option though.

What I'd like to do is fire it up while I'm walking to where I was going to use it, so it'd be up and running right away. Presumably it done so it won't fire up accidently when it's in a bag and such.
