Default Inspiron vs XPS??

Hey guys, Ive been looking into getting a laptop to help with my studies and life after studying.

Now ive been looking on the dell website and come across the Inspirons, and also the XPS laptops.

From some systems i have mocked up using the build spec feature on the dell website, I can get a pretty good Inpsiron 1720 for the same price roughly as an XPS 1530 with the similar specs.

This has given me a little dilemma as im not sure what to go for. Would you guys be able to tell me which laptop has better features that i should probably research into??

I've found this too. Only difference is with the XPS you get DDR3 VRAM and on the Inspiron you get DDR2 VRAM and a 17" screen.
Its a toss up on what you want it for really. DDR2 is still alright. But the DDR3 has much more potential.
