This is pretty close now - just a little more tweaking and I'll call it a logo

Maybe the double stripe around the outside? I was going to reduce that to a single white stripe. I dunno - you can easily spend hours on things like this, but for now it's a start. I'm certainly no graphic artist - I'd happily let anyone else have a crack at it, but I do want to keep the AU bit in concept, and prefer to make it look like a road/track.

I think a more stylized version would be tops here. Let me have a play tonight and I'll fire something through to you tomorrow.

Pic link not working - I did see the concept though. I'd like to keep the AU bit how I had it though I think - for now at least - I want it to look like a section of racetrack.

At the end of the day I guess the logo doesnt matter a lot anyways - I'll use it on the drawings, etc, and likely a tag or sticker on the cockpit, but unless I was seriously goiing to market these things it doesnt matter too much?

Oh not sure why that wouldn't work,
Here is the link to it anyway.

Was designed to look like esses of a race track forming the shape of this "a", with the Formula acting as the down strike of the U.
Sweet as man, logo not that important compared to the awesome job you have done designing this rig. Can't wait for plans.

Yeah - I can see that my one is very geometric (funny that as I drew it in CAD ) - maybe stylising is the way to go with it in the long term. Need more feedback on this, but I think I've lost a lot of the followers along the way since it's taken me so loooong to get to this stage

Too many projects, too little time.

Having 'formula' after the AU spoils the wording ..............formula AU sounds soooo much better than AU formula (sounds like a drug recipe ) IMHO

I imagined it would still be Formula AU, not the other way around, as you point out sounds like little timmy's cough medicine.

Lack of shed time is driving me crazy - I only had a few hours this afternoon, and didn't get very far.

It was a good test of the jig though, and of the paper templates too - they seem to work ok. I managed to get 4 tubes in place, with 4 to go on the rear section.

I did make a few simple jigs to assist with cutting the angles on the rectangular tubes though - that will speed things up for the next one!

I sat the seat in there still on the test seat frame so it is sitting at least 25mm higher that it will be once fitted for real.

My trusty assistant (pictured) and I tested it out - it should be really good. I also sat the other tubes in place so you can see how they will look (they still need to be trimmed to fit yet).

Again, ignore the blue seat frame - that's a test frame just to hold the seat in position.

By the time I get home from work it's a bit late to start noisy stuff like cutting and grinding, so more progress next weekend I hope. Tempted to book a couple of days leave so I can get it done. Meanwhile I'll continue with drawings, and also I'll mount the pedals to the pedal plate

Mounted the pedals to the pedal plate to confirm hole spacing etc - perfect fit :-)

2 M6 bolts per pedal, with 5 spacing positions per pedal. Centre hole is stock G25 spacing from memory :

Side on shot :

You can see my replacement brake pedal in this shot - load cell based (has around 12mm travel). I've swapped the original brake spring into the clutch pedal, and the original clutch spring into the throttle.
