Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about Amiga. My younger brother was a fanatic in the early '90s when I was using Win 3.1.
He used to use his Amiga a lot as a muso for doing backing tracks etc. - I can't remember which programs though.
He has crossed to the Dark Side well and truly now, and never sledges me any more like he used to for using Windows

KDE 4.5.1 -
I tweaked it up a bit with the a new windeco theme (glowglass) and plasma theme (glaze) . As of 4.5.1 though, the transparent glass effects on the glowglass theme are much more accurate so I've not bothered going back to see what the stock look is.

Icon changes, the krunner behaviour is slightly modified too now, it only shows one item in the list, and you can scroll it, a bunch of icon changes in the systray, slightly modified systray behaviour more like win7...
There is a new brightness level indicator for when you change screen brightness too
Speed doesn't seem to have been affected on this machine, but others are reporting noticeable improvements.

I ended up grabbing the experimental-snapshot packages for debian from here, thanks in large part to gkiagia who did most of the work himself apparently

enough talk:

To a certain degree and generally speaking, yes, it does. But as I just said above, sometimes you have to compromise on a system setup to suit other members of the household too and not be selfish.

Personally, if I had it my way I'd be using AwesomeWM. Kicks ass on anything else I've ever used.

Edit: Since my last desktop/wallpaper post I have migrated to KDE as I have been speaking about for some time due to the direction that Gnome 3 (gnome-shell) is heading. A direction in which I do not like, so I jumped ship to KDE4.4.2. As you can see, I still have the same wallpaper, it jumped ship with me!

Hey Foxmulder

I love that screen backround.....any chance you can point me to where you found it

Cheers

About the only time JLo has looked anywhere near what I'd consider "good".

There's no latex in the image You've fallen victim to the "latex leggings" misnomer, brought about by the fact that synthetic polymers can be shiny, like polished latex. They are in fact 83% Nylon, 15% Spandex and 2% Polyester according to the Norma Kamali website
