Default Installing Intel ACHI drivers for XP

I love these instructions for installing ACHI in XP on a Lenovo N200 laptop:

# Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges.
# Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
The default location is C:\DRIVERS\AHCI
# Copy all filles in the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2, to a Floppy disk. Then begin the Windows XP installation.
# At the beginning of the operating system installation, press F6 to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver.
# When prompted, select 'S' to Specify Additional Device.
# When prompted, insert the diskette you created in step 1 and press Enter.
# At this point you should be presented with a selection, highlight "Intel(R) ICH8M SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH8M)" and press Enter.
# Press Enter again to continue. Leave the diskette in the system until the next reboot as the software will need to be copied from the diskette again when setup is copying files

How am I meant to copy files to a floppy disk when the laptop has no floppy disk drive?

Will a USB work?

Yes you need a USB floppy disk.

You could also set the controller to IDE mode in BIOS. However not all machines have this settings.

Another way is to slipstream the drivers into a new copy of you Windows XP CD.

you don't even need to install it when your installing windows..
do it after windows is installed..
i never needed to do that when i had a N200..
