Yerp, this is really an amazing deal considering what other stores are selling consoles at.

Do you think that other stores would price match this, or even price beat it? Like how Harvey Norman have the 110% of the difference, etc etc.

I think EB do price matching too

That would be very handy, as no doubt, there would be a mad rush for X360s at Big W...

not into gaming so this questions might be stupid...

so it sounds like that all but the arcade model backwards compatible with the original xbox games. how is the backwards compatibility provided? In the form of software? or hardware?

as soon as you plug in a HDD, BAM backwards compatibility.

missing out on the HD cables but who gives a toss, get a $15 HDMI cable like most people getting these new 360s

headset - cheap $3 dealextreme piece of tat

pending these are falcon models i might go schnapper one up

Kmart's latest toy catalogue which lobbed in Screen Play's mailbox yesterday has the Xbox 360 Pro (don't even think about buying the Arcade model without a hard drive) for the lowest price yet seen in Australia.

The machine is advertised at $449, on sale from July 3, a big saving on the current RRP of $579.

There has been speculation overseas of a Xbox 360 price cut to coincide with E3 in a few weeks, perhaps Kmart has jumped the gun?

ahah yeh i reckon I wonder if anyone tried to get it for that price before they fixed the mistake.

I find it amusing in regard to what they write on the botton of most pages:

backwards compatibility is software based and will work with the HDD plugged in as people have already mentioned.

silver bezel = who coes

headset = free with 12 month live kits so grab one on special

you dont get a hdmi cable with a pro console anyway so its an extra cost of $15 no matter which console you buy.

kmart at 450 is a rip if you consider the bigw deal...end of story

Agreed. It will take all of 2 seconds to swap the white bezel with a chrome one anyway .

Does anyone know what drives 360's mostly come with these days? Last time i heard, Benq drives were becoming popular but i dont know if thats still the case.

Cheers for that mate. I wonder how these Lite-On drives stack up against the good old Benq. I'll be sure to check the MFG date on the BigW 360's

Basically the Benq (Lite-On/Philips) ones are the same design based on photos. http://www.xbox360dvd.com/ The sticker is probably the only difference. So as long as you buy one that has been made in 2008 you are set to get a Falcon with a Benq based drive.
