Default Dreamweaver ???

Hey guys, i was just wondering who uses adobe Dreamweaver and what your thoughts and opinions on it were? it seems like a pretty well designed program with plenty of complex applications for it. But thought i would ask before i go making any purchases for that kinda cash lol

Editplus is better.

I hate WYSIWYG editors.

Why pay for something i have to check in every other browser and hand code the fix's anyway?

Pretty sure you can download a trial of the program before you buy anyway. Some people like the environment some people prefer other applications.

Couldn't agree more, they add so much crud to your HTML that you end up just opening it up in Notepad and deleting big chunks of useless code.

Its a good program to start with.
If you dont know HTML or know little
its good to start with but depense what you want to do with the webpages you make.

Hey guys,

I'm creating a online store with zencart.

You can customise it with CSS, I'm fairly new to coding (i know basic HTML and can recognise different elements).

Do you think dreamweaver would be best? or another application?

Dreamweaver really isn't required here at all, the only benefit I can really see for a beginner here is that it will auto-complete a lot of your css and give you colour swatches and stuff, which I'm pretty sure 100 other alternative programs could do too.

Hang around for another suggestion.

Dreamweaver isn't a bad idea for your situation, but it's definitely not worth dropping a whole bundle of money into.
