How much did the phenom 9850 set you back? all the places i've seen, seem to be selling them close to 300 (high 200's).

335, had to import it from over east though, cant get any stock in Perth (local distros are backorder till May -_-)

Cheers, I just wish the Striker overclocked well. Had to raise CPU to 1.4v just to get it to 3.0GHz which is really shocking (no pun intended). CPU-Z shows it as 1.296v so vdrop is baaad.

First time overclocking anything properly and it's fairly easy to navigate the BIOS so that's a plus at least. My rig tends to be for looks more than performance, the E2180 is more than adequate but I'll get a Q9450 anyway since it's always fun to boost the e-peen factor

Yah its a bit of a shame..i guess you can't judge a board by all the fancy features and lights it has

Yeah, as said my PC is more for e-peen that best performance. I mean cmon, I bought the XFX 8800GT over all the others because it was made with black PCB instead of reference green or blue.

It'll be a shame when I upgrade my RAM and get rid of my 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix Lanfest Edition RAM. They're so sexy

Unfortunately I didn't take a pic of the physical box before opening it up and installing it, so I guess here's the next best thing:

The ol' 965 chipset still has life left in it! Fired her up and immediately put her to work - been Folding for the past 16hrs. I'll give her a break if/when she complains...

bought it yesterday, mainly too take to the snow as i am going for the season in June to be an instructor and want a good camera too take some action shots on my days off. tried it out a bit and the quality is awesome and gets some awesome prints from my Pixma printer.

can't wait too take it for a good spin!
