So they honoured the special edition for $78 bucks (or whatever it was) shown in the catalogue?

edit: Just went to my local DSE they said the price is $99.95, but they will honour the Catalogue price without any problem ($79.78)

They didn't have any pre-orders for the limited edition, just the Standard one. I'll just pick one up in the morning.

EB on chapel st in melbourne are selling copies already.

No, I'm kidding. But if anyone hears anything like that post it up cuz I really wanna play it tonight since I got work tomorrow all day.

The first Gears of War had the "Collectors Edition" this time they are just call the Collectors Edition the "Limited Edition"

Either way, CE or LE... that confused the DSE people when I asked too

Even though Im sure I will never play Gears 1 again, I'll just keep it... was too good to get rid of. And presumably they will give under $20, so probably not worth it.

They offered $25 bucks, its the Collectors Edition and i got it for free anyway

Its just that most people will be playing GOW2

and i'd rather it not sit on the shelf..

I think i may keep it, as i would like to do the campaign again! When i have time..lol

I got rid of heaps lately, and the usual way I justify it is by saying well I haven't played Zelda/Metroid/Mario etc, so what do I wanna play if I get time one day!

and with that I usually off any game Im not 100% on... some I rebuy and resell and even rebuy again too...

Lol, I tend to stop myself these days by keeping a minimal amount of games on the shelf, as its hard to keep me actively playing each one. I've turned to renting new games first

But with Gears of War 2 i know what i'll be getting!

When I rent something I have rarely bought it after, usually I look for any possible fault and as such justify not buying it.

I got atleast 20 games Im dying to play, most haven't been touched ever.

Doesn't help when Gears 2 comes out!

Sure doesn't, especially how fun the multilayer should be

Since they've fixed quite a few bugs compared to the first gears.

To be honest I'm looking forward to the SP again, I played it througg atleast half a dozen times in the first, esp coop.

I see the whole game as Gears 1.5 though, which is fine. Graw 2 was similar in that sense, just refined like this.

Where as COD4 obviously was clearly a revolutionary sequel.

Not that its a bad thing more of the same with Gears, but when they got excited about 5 on 5 as the new thing that kinda seems a bit lame.

Though who knows Gears may not work with 16+ anyway.

I tried to push the guys at DSE, EB Games and JB-HIFI..but the only store that physically had stock was EB Games, the rest said they didn't have it yet

this was about midday today.
