Default How to win customers

Funny conversation I had via email over the last couple of days. Too big to put on the news page directly so I'm putting it in here and linking the thread. Made me laugh, anyway.

All identifying details removed, of course..

Hello,
My name is xxxxx xxxxxxxx, Special Assistant to the President of xxxxxxxx. xxxxxxxx is a web hosting and colocation business specializing in building and working with technology, e-commerce and emerging growth companies.

I am trying to contact the person who is in charge of your website development/Internet hosting. I am hoping you will help me by forwarding this message to them, or letting me know the best way to contact that particular individual.

Thank you for your help. Please review our website for more information at http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxx.com./.

Thank You,
xxxxx xxxxxxxx

--------------------------------

Hi xxxxx,

That would be me. By the way, the link in your email does not work due to the misplaced fullstop.

Cheers
James

--------------------------------

Thank you for replying to my e-mail. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what a fullstop is, could you let me know so I can tell my technical people. Thanks again,

xxxxx

Not all that inspiring tho.

[EDIT] I'm guessing English is not my first language either. LOL [/EDIT]

You gotta remember a lot of these PRs aren't from english speaking countries. It's funny but I don't think it's right to take the piss out of him on a public forum

Agg did you actually try removing the full stop from the url

http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxx.com./.

Cause without the full stop it takes you to

www.fatpig.com

&

www.learningplace.com

heheh porn sites

Not sure if this is the right place for it but,
I think there should be a forum for 'stupid' people (customers), since there is one for vendors, Some of the emails I get at work from customers are pretty funny, you know the standard 13 years in computers blah blah, and this product is faulty etc.. etc.. to find out they screwed in the p4 mounting screws for a the heatsink on a AMD board, therefore the board was shorting and not powering up... (just an example).
