Default Tualatin's still being used by anyone?

Everyone seems to be talking about the latest CPUs and boards but I was wondering if anyone still uses Tualatin CPUs and if they were used in non-Tualatin boards.
I recently set one up as a media box and for retro gaming ie Freelancer etc.
Does anyone else still use them??

Interesting post - as I'm reminded that the modern day Core based processors have more in common with the Tualatin architecture than Netburst...

In answer to you question tho, no unfortunately I'm not - however that's not to say they're not useful anymore... as I do have a system that should be fully functional - just sitting unused (and unloved these days).

I still have one (a Tualatin Celeron 1100MHz), but it's not in use at the moment. Unfortunately mainboards are difficult to find, and this one's a pretty nasty one (it came from a Packard Bell system, and they've gone and rearranged the front-panel USB pins so it won't work with all-in-one headers on cases).

i believe xbox 1's used a celeron 750mhz mobile cpu

edit my mistake its a 733mhz celeron

Code:
# CPU: 32-bit 733 MHz Coppermine-based Mobile Celeron in Micro-PGA2 package. 180 nm process.

    * SSE floating point SIMD. 4 single-precision floating point numbers per clock cycle.
    * MMX integer SIMD.
    * 133 MHz 64-bit GTL+ front side bus to GPU.
    * 32 KB L1 cache. 128 KB on-die L2 "Advanced Transfer Cache".

I still use a Celeron Tualatin 1Ghz and 100Mhz SDRAM in my server. From memory the board has an Intel i810 chipset. Shock horror!

With a SATA RAID card and a few drives, it makes a great mirrored backup server + torrent downloader, and it's currently running Arch linux and Windows Server 2003 (in VMWare) for me to play with.

I built it probably three years ago, back when these things were still vaguely available. My decision was based on the fact that the Tualatin architecture, even in a crappy Celeron, was a lot better than the Netburst shit available at the time, and much cheaper also than a new CPU + mainboard from either camp. The venerable Tualatin CPUs have an interesting legacy: http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...d.php?t=399361 and http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...d.php?t=672711

I still use a couple of dual Tualatin based servers ranging from 1.13 -1.4GHZ. I am also planning (and have been for some time.....) a small cluster using 1U optimised Tualatin server boards (Intel SCB2) which have been replaced with their XEON equivalents over time. The SCB2 is a nice board with U160 SCSI, dual 10/100 LAN and supporting up to 6GB of RAM.

I would be using Tualatins, if I could find a pair of the right steppings at the right (read: stingy ) price for the HP TC3100 I've been hoarding for 2 years .

I've got a couple of CPUs sitting here unloved - ran out of boards that'll take them.
Had a 1100A Tualatin celeron back in the day, ran 1650Mhz 1:1 FSB:RAM - outpaced the then $350 1900+ Athlon, not back for a $100 new chip.
