Default Iron Photographer - May Discussion

Official May 2008 Theme : "Free Challenge".

End date: 10 pm AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time) Saturday, 31st May 2008.

Our February Iron Photographer, Valimont, hasn't replied to the request for a topic so this months theme is "Free Challenge". Just enter your favorite image for the month and let the voters decide this months winner.

Remember to think laterally, not literally.

For this challenge only, any photo taken during the month will be accepted but the usual "no entires will be accepted after the closing time even if the thread remains open", rule still applies. Please note all times are Eastern standard time.
All entries must be exactly 800 pixels on their longest dimension; eg, 800x450 or 600x800. This includes any borders you choose to add. No thumbnails.

The complete rules can be read here and here.

Iron Photographer - May Entries

Good luck and have fun.

bazz

No excuses for not enter this month and hopefully we might see a record number of submissions.

That topic actually surprised me, like a twist in the plot.

I'm off to Darwin, Katherine, Alice and Uluru this month, so if I don't get a decent photo to enter it'll be a worry.

Is it possible for the voting and top ten to be permanently advertised on the news page, might bring more competitors and generate a bit more interest?

It's hard to say why the level of interest has dropped somewhat.

Maybe the recent themes haven't inspired people to participate ?

Anyway...the top 10 and voting threads always seem to have a lot more views than votes. Would be nice if a higher percentage of those views could be turned into votes.

There was one IP, can't remember exactly when, but wanyecruse mentioned it on the news page, and votes increased dramatically, might have been April 07 ? If there is some way to get it advertised on a regular basis it definitely wouldn't hurt

I know that the choice of themes in the last few months have been too obscure/silly for me to come up with an entry.

I'll come up with an entry for this one, though.

My best photo so far this month is a little on the nude side lol. I know the forum's guidelines on nudes, but I'm unsure with this comp. Is a link to an 800px dimension pic within the thread and a warning the way it should be done?

Yes it's looking like there might be about three entries until the day before when there's three more pages. I don't really think that's a worry. It's just cos this theme means people can submit any photo and so they wait until they've taken all their photos for the month.

I think this month's theme gives an advantage to people with access to studios. Kinda hard to beat models & lights eh?
