Check out a Crumpler store - take your lappy down and have them show you what can fit in there.
Fantastic quality bags.

I got a Mountain Designs chimney 30. It's not specifically a notebook bag, but it has got a sling type thing along the back of it in the main compartment, that I put my notebook in. While there's no protection, aside from the back of the backpack being padded, I think with a Neoprene case for the notebook, it should be fine, atleast for me... (I don't plan on throwing my bag around..so it'll hopefully take ok to accidental knocks, etc ok)
Plus the bag has LOADS of room left over (it has more room than some bags claiming to be 35/40L)! and the bag is under 1kg, so it's light! (Weight and space were the 2 most important things for me). Got it on sale for $80 in store. Last edited by sunrise; 7th May 2008 at 9:45 AM. |

Infact the only thing I dislike about crumpler is their website. Its shit and makes me want to gouge my eyeballs out. Thankfully they have walk-in stores - and they'll custom make a bag for you if none of theirs suit.

As far as backpacks go, i am currently using a Lowepro Fastpack 350. A little large and probably not what you are after. Takes my 14.1" acer 4920 (can take up to a 17" one easily) as well as some crap in the top and all my camera gear in the bottom part.

Haha, yeah. It does get a bit heavy sometimes. Thats why I dont always carry all my camera stuff in it. Just a light kit.
Although the bag does have about an inch of padding on the back of it and about half that on the inside of the shoulder straps.
