I bought a female Blue ram for my male one last week and I just noticed today there's a bunch of eggs on the driftwood, the little eggs seems to be moving a bit so I'm guessing they're frys? or atleast alive. bit of a surprise since I didn't expect them to breed so early or even at all.
They are in a 10 gallon tank by themselves + an oto, which shouldn't eat the eggs right? are there anything I need to watch out for to ensure the eggs survive? |

Hi!
I'm looking to put some plastic toys in my turtle tank, and I thought it would be best to put a clear coat on them to stop any paint fading or toxins slowly leeching out over the years. A U.S.A aquarium site recommended this spray: http://www.krylon.com/products/clear...thane_coating/ But it's unavailable here. Any ideas? Thanks.

I'm sure you can find another brand of "clear polyurethane" in any good paint supply store.

Hey guys, I'm needing to clear out my tank decorations. Make me an offer on any of the stuff I have. No reasonable offer refused.

I'm planning on making a cylindrical tube aquarium/aquaponics system for the office. Any recommendations on fish?
I was thinking cardinal tetra's as the ultimate ferrari of fishes but if you have any other recommendations for a 5 ltr tank then I'm all ears. |

![]() I tried to do one in sketchup but I'm finding it a little difficult so it's on paper for now and then straight onto AutoCAD. I sourced some acrylic tube 4mm thick with an outer diameter of 150mm and I plan to sink it into the rest of the CNC parts. At this stage the pump is sorted and I got a really cheap heater off of dealextreme although depending, I might try to get something even smaller. I'm looking at around 100AUD plus some other outlays like silicon and polishing pads. I want something close to beach sand down the bottom and I have already ordered myself a Danbo for the bottom of the tank This is what Danbo looks like! |

How constantly heated/cooled is the room? 5L is going to see huge fluctuations.
I'd be trying it out with White Clouds. Ferrari of small fish is the Coral Red Pencilfish, but definitely wouldn't recommend for this.

hi all
i am going to need an recommendation/advise i have just bought a 2nd hand aquaone 620t through fleabay. problem is, the stand is starting to peel off, i think because previous owner had lots of water spilled and didn't wipe it, so it bubbles and peeled off.. The material feels like almost like rough laminate. Is there anyway i can replace it? i thought i was gonna buy a laminate wood from bunnings, but problem is, this stand is not square (comes in like a roundish), so cutting will be a problem. what's the best way to replace this? about setup, it was used as marine aquarium. I am thinking to setup a tropical fish or cold water fish. preferably i thought cold water is easier, but if gold fish poo is heaps, i might have to think some easier maintenance (dont want to keep changing / replacing filter very often). is tropical really the other option? how do i start from here? i was given advice by the vic market aquarium, i had to buy water salt, carbon bags, minerals (white) and pads. and to setup new water, they told me to buy water conditioner. is that all that you need to setup aquarium (it's expensive already )on the other hand, is it possible to use a water filter ( the white water filter that normally for tap water) to be used as aquarium filter? thanks guys for the response |

So all my blue ram frys has disappeared... they were fine this mourning, could see they've grown eyes and were wiggling their tails.
But they're all gone now, cant find a single one. Do blue ram parents eat them? or is there any chance they got sucked into the filter(small Aquaclear HOB)? |
