I'm looking are for a similar thing at the moment

so far i like the ASUS F8SN. I found it with a T9300 2.5GHz instead of a 2.4GHz and a 320GB HDD instead of a 250GB for $1835 which i'm leaning towards at the moment

What have you found as far as pricing?

The only thing that worries me with the Asus is the battery life. With prices, I haven't really been looking for the best price around yet, just trying to figure out what to buy first.

Have you had a look at the Vostro 1310? Very good value this week for the $1099 package. With 2K you can upgrade the CPU to a high level and add the 3 years warranty.

For $1670 you can get C2D 2.4Ghz, 3GB Ram, 250GB hard drive, 3 years onsite warranty, 128MB 8400 video card, Dell Carry Bag, Wifi+Bluetooth, built in camera, DVD Burner, 15months security
