Default Any light at the end of the 8800m tunnel?

With tax time fast approaching I'm looking at purchasing a laptop for "work purposes" to get some tax breaks.

I've been keen on the XPS 1530 because of the 8600m, and the fact I'd like to be able to use the laptop for gaming.

However, I have seen the odd laptop or two with 8800m cards on board, but alas these are all only sold in the US (and are all 17" and far too expensive).

As such, any news on if/when 8800's will be mainstream here in Aus, and what sort or price point/form factor I could expect them in?

Alternatively, I'm all for suggestions on other <$2k laptops which are gaming capable.

The only 15.4" notebook I know of with 8800 in the alienware and it about twice the price of a m1530.

Yeah, I used to own a Dell 9400 and while it was great as a desktop replacement it was just too big to be any real use as a true 'laptop'.

I just preordered one from the states in the $500 off pre order memorial weekend sale.
$4000 including shipping and 3 year complete cover accidental warranty with qx9300, 9800gtx, 4gb ddr3 1333 and a 320gb hdd.
Pretty darn good deal if you ask me. The warranty cost me around $700 (there are a whole bunch of bundled stuff with the warranty too). So you could actually have the same laptop for substantially less.

I think these may be desktop chips cpackaged in a laptop case and chassis. Too lazy to check but Clevo has done this many times before - it is a stock in trade, in fact I have one from Pentium 3 vintage.

It makes for super short battery life and can also make for super loud fans and/or burnt laps.

We have a laptop at work that runs a full blown Pentium IV chip running at 3ghz...

Needless to say it is relegated to the boardroom and serves little more than being the terminal for our projector....

Nah its the first laptop quad.
It's a real laptop chip. It hasn't been released yet but speced to only be 45w TDP.
same with the GFX card
15.4" 1920x1200
warranty is international
