Hi guys, I have two problems with my laptop... I was hoping someone with a bit of knowledge on the subject might be able to confirm what the problem is and tell me how much they think it would cost to get it fixed....?
Problem 1 = CPU fan (pretty sure) grinding (still spinning but loud at idle and very loud at load..) Problem 2 = Screen flickering and colour banding / freezing... Tapping the monitor or raising lowering will sometimes fix.... as will bending the frame slightly at the top. Video card is fine.. will feed out to another monitor. Panel is fine (i think) when i tap wiggle bend and it works... the panel is perfect. No problem with brightness or back light so i don't think it is backlight or inverter. i thought it was probably a cable but i took apart the panel and the cable seemed fine... there was a film PCB? on the back of the panel... random tapping on this seemed to fix it temporarily.... If anyone knows what the screen problem is and how much you think i will pay for a repair on these two issues... can you let me know |

what model?
These are the parts you'd be looking at CPU fan LCD flex cable LCD panel A lot of companies have a spare parts division so it may be worthwhile calling them and asking for a parts only quote. Since you have already pulled it apart paying for the onsite tech could probably be avoided. |
