Default HP dv3000 Discussion

I've been tossing up between the M1330 and M1530 for a while, but just came across this.

Review: http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles...4&id=2538&pg=2

HP Link

Compared to the M1330, imo it comes out on top thanks to the esata, gb lan and removable optical drive. Unfortunately the only one listed on the HP website has a T8300, which afaik leads to worse battery life than the T9 series. (Much like allendale E4X00 desktop cpu's that run far hotter than similar C2D's, and the dell's with this cpu get the 90w ac adapter instead of 65w)

So far there's only one store on staticice that has it, and its priced at $1730 there, so seems a bit better value than the dell. No led screen however.

Im pretty interested in it, just thought I'd share

the replacement for the DV3000 is the DV3.

LMC (ocau sponsor) has a montevina DV3 with P8600 for $1499 ($1399 after cashback) atm. good deal

although i noticed this thread is from exactly a year ago. not sure why it was brought back from the dead?

yes but you started your post by saying "yes, i have one, any questions?"

i doubt the OP would have any questions after a year since starting the thread...im sure he's made up his mind about what laptop to buy since then (especially since the DV3000 is now an outdated model).

the backlit keyboard does look very nice though...does it stay on all the time or did the new keyboard come with an ambient light sensor?

yes. yes. blah blah...

umm, yeah, if you hold Fn + spacebar it toggles it on or off.

i was quite stoked, because the standard keyboard actually has BLACK letttering. can you believe it? couldn't see a thing before in low light.
