I have the same firmware.

When did you last reset it (hard reset)? I'm new to windows mobile but i would think it is much like any computer - if you leave a computer on 24/7 for 6 months - it will crawl.....

No idea about the latest firmware - but i'm thinking of flashing mine to the Windows mobile 6.5 beta custom roms from another forum - it also has the HTC interfase preloaded so you can choose between the HTC and the 6.5 ones.

I need to get a USB cable first though....

I've got no problems with the battery lasting 3 or 4 days if all I use it for is to make the occaisonal phone call. If I use it as an MP3 player or satnav, it will only last a day, just like any other mp3 player or satnav, and this is NO better than a iphone.
yeah, it has all those capabilities. but you don't use all of them.

at the end of a typical day. 10 messages, alarm. 5mins of calls. it will be at 40%. it doesn't last 2 days for me

I dont think Ive ever done a hard reset - figure its the same as doing a format/reinstall, and Ive never had a WinMo phone, so no idea what/how to back it up.

Hard reseting it will delete the System memory (~100mb) - this will include all programs instaleld to the memory and configorations (i think) - anything on the internal 8/16gb will remain intact, as with any micro SD cards.

I dont know how to back it up - Windows Mobile Center maybe can help?

i normally get 1 and 1/2 days. yesterday i only got 1 day, cause i checked my hotmail about 20times, no calls and only about 5 txt. and facebook about 10min. thats it

something is wrong with your phone then (or settings on your phone)

i used it for around 4-5 hours a day for music
30mins -1hr of phone calls
random uses of it playing games briefly and checking the time etc

at the end of the day its at like 50%-60%

I would agree, that something is wrong with your phone/battery. for the last week, I've used my omnia as a phone(ie, no music, movies, games. gps, or net serving) I've made a couple of calls, text, pda functions, turn on wifi a couple of times. I recharged my phone on Sunday afternoon, and my phone still shows 60%battery I admit that it has light usage this week, but I still get an average of 3 days with about 50% battery power.

i may have a guess to what may used up power on my phone before.

i used to get 1 to 1.5 days.

i also used to get error messages. so i formatted.

im using it now, with no other 3rd party programs.
im suspecting that maybe the weather feature in spb mobile shell contributed to this issue. and maybe even s2u2 lock. which are all great programs.
maybe.

im on my 2nd day now with 40%.

plenty of messaging. and around 30 mins of calls.

From what I've seen s2u2 makes a fair difference to battery life, especially if you have an animated wallpaper on the unlock screen.

I generally get at least 2 days out of mine, running s2u2 & spb + weather with moderate use so your battery life still seems a bit short.

yeah. i'd be happy with a clean 2 days and charge on the second night. that's fine... but when it doesn't pull throughh to the next night... i get vely vely upsetting!!

Only the 8gb is being sold here for some reason. Any 16gbs will be grey imports and as such have no warranty etc.
