Exclamation Nvidia Forceware 177.39 + NVIDIA physX 8.06.12 + 8800GTS 512 Results!

Today, NVIDIA officially launched GPU acceleration for PhysX when they released
the PhysX driver version 8.06.12 which enables PhysX acceleration for the following cards :

GeForce GTX 280
GeForce GTX 260
GeForce 9800 GTX+
GeForce 9800 GTX

You will need to install the latest 177.39 ForceWare driver in addition to the PhysX driver. At this moment,
PhysX support has only been enabled for those four GPUs. NVIDIA will progressively
enable PhysX support in the other GeForce 9 and GeForce 8 graphics over the next few weeks.

Get to testing people!

all we need now is that modded .inf fingers crossed that the performance increases are over the rest of the G92 range as well!

*Edit*

Got these working on my 8800GTS-512 using

http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/infs/1...ta/nv_disp.inf

replaced the 'Driver ver =' string to 'DriverVer = 06/16/2008, 7.15.11.7739'

and it installed succesfully.

Yet to see if the physX is working though, but that too succesfully installed after the driver install.

*Edit 2*

Results on my rig below....I think its working on 8800GTS-512 cards heheheh I don't have a comparison cause I just got both vantage today and thats my first run with the system and graphics card clocked reasonably conservatively

Interesting, obviously you haven't tried them.

I can't find either driver at nvidia, care to share your source?

EDIT: I presume you are me3850 at Guru3D as well, yes?

no i'm not me3850 from G3D i came across his post but my sources are from nvnews & guru3d respectively.

I have actually tried these drivers on my rig using a modified version of the latest 177.35 drivers from laptopvideo2go.com

so far I can say performance wise it might be just me but their doing wonders for my rig in Crysis (DX9 'VH' settings of course) have yet to try DX10 but there's been quite the performance improvement. Where by in area's where It would dip below 20fps its now at 30fps+.... Yet to do more testing but i'm curious how these perform for people with more substantial rigs in the processor department with a G92 class card.

i've also tried installing the physX driver after the driver install. And although it installs 'succesfully' I can't run any of the physX demo's included with it in the demo section of the PhySX control panel even though it says GeforceX as the hardware detection.

So we shall have to wait and see!

is there a benchmark purely for physx acceleration that we can try to see b4 and after driver installation effects ?

Im interested to see how this works ... could give games a whole new level ...

The 177.35 give a good speed increase for sure I installed them last night and played some CoH, I'm stuck at work for 3 more hours yet so I can't test this.

EDIT: Bloody hell, one of the biggest developments in recent times and the thread is dead, where is everyone lol

EDIT 2: That's it, pulling the pin, some things are just more important than work

I'm going to try these later on my G92 8800GTS SLI if someone can help confirm that these drivers will SLI properly under an inf mod.
