Anyone know if there is any data logging available in iRacing? rF has a MoTeC plugin which has been absolutely invaluable to me so if iR has something similar, that enough will have me purchasing it.

No data logging that I'm aware of at this stage in iRacing - would be nice though for sure. Everything else seems to be using it these days.

GAME ON! I've got my internet connection hooked up at home and started downloading the patches just before I left to come to work this morning, so I'll be racing/practicing/crashing tonight.

dont be alarmed if its missing a few features at this point, its still not officially been released and we are all kind of beta testing

in time if enough people join, they will add everything and HOPEFULLY add a league option.

I'm fully aware of this. I've been on their mailing list for ages and have been trawling the iRacing forum all day so have a good idea of what to expect in regards to content, features, etc...

I'm an old simhead from back in the GPL days. I've actually been driving sims since the ol' Indy 500 on my Amiga back in the early 90's. Good times!

Everyone signed up to the mailing list on the website is supposed to get an invite before the end of August with a big slab going out this week on the 6th.

Looks like full public release will be in September.

Really need some telemetry for these Formula Mazdas.

So how are you finding the step up to the Mazdas from the skippy?

I guess you could call it that. But it isnt a game, its a simulator. i.e. if you like NFS, Turismo etc then it aint for you!

From what i understand there are license tests and prequisites for advancing to the next level of racing. I think you also have to pay for the car and tracks that are used in that series.

Im hoping that my invite is in the inbox when i get home tonight, after everything ive read on the matter i am simply itching to get involved. I really cannot wait!

There are no tests, but there is a participation requirement for advancement (minimum number of races/time trials).

Advancement is mainly controlled by what they call a Safety Rating, which is basically a corners per incident ratio, where an incident is anything from getting more than 1/2 the car off onto the dirt, hitting another car or a wall etc. So to advance you have to drive cleanly which has made the racing very good.

I don't really see it as an MMO, but as a ranked racing competition where higher ratings allow you to race in the more advanced series.

You do have to pay extra for the additional cars though, and you usually have to buy an extra 2-3 tracks per series as well.

I think the invites will start arriving early Thursday morning our time. They go out in the morning their time, and they're 14 hours behind EAST.

The Mazda: It rocks. I didn't like it initially, but I'm loving it around Road America. Unfortunately there aren't many racing it at the moment. The bulk of members just went up to the D license, so they're all focusing on the Skip Barber.
