If you overshoot your pit or pull up too short it can add time to your pitstop.

So having never raced the V8 before, whats the deal with pit stops? Seems like you are forced to take a pit. Is this just because it simply runs out of fuel or is it tyres? If it's tyres the NTM might have a big impact on this I guess.

Fuel. You burn alot and it only has a small tank.

Both the tank size and fuel burn rate were changed for this season to better reflect the real V8 series.

That's pretty cool. Adds to the excitement! I haven't needed to pit in any series I've run thus far (apart from OCAU events of course).

WELL! I've had a pretty good night. 3rd in race 1 and 2nd in race 2. Have had a 150 gain in iRating tonight. Had to scrap really hard to get into 2nd after another SLOW pitstop... and I thought I'd stopped on my marker.
No chance of 1st though because Chris Luckey had the setup that allows you to go the full distance without a stop. Diff ratio or something.

I get really stressed when it comes to the pitstops, it seems to be where I watch my position turn to shit. At least I'm managing to stop the car before the lollipop man.... rather than reversing.

I got 9 inc despite IMO driving a clean race, I had two 4x from a slower guy widening on me when I was on the outside... and closing on me when I was on the inside. he ran out of fuel anyway, trying to also do the nostopper with the slower diff ratio. SR took a minor hit but oh well.

I haven't had time to finish the paint yet guys, but I might get some done before bed.

25 laps on 1 tank must have taken some serious fuel saving!

I could only manage 23 laps with the 3.5 diff.

Release notes are out.

- Updated to use the New Tire Model.

- Suspension modelling has been improved. Especially improved is how the whole rear axle behaves. This may also have been the source of the occasional launch into the sky bug. The front suspension can now have it's roll center height adjusted.

- Reworked aerodynamics with our latest aero techniques and with latest data.

- Rear wing is now adjustable.

- Changed most setup items to default to metric sizes, including springs and bars.

- Alterations to the anti-roll bar stiffnesses and motion ratios. Also more rear size options are available.

- Cleaned up unnecessary stuff from the garage, such as antiroll bar arm length adjustment.

- Limit steering ratio to 10:1 minimum.

- Engine torque and efficiency revisions.

- Reduced drafting strength and length.

- Improved collision definitions for better 4x behavior.

- Updated iRacing setups.

Dallara IndyCar

- Updated ground collisions to not damage the engine so easily.

- Updated the 4x collision thresholds.

- Improved side to side drafting behavior at Indianapolis.

I'm looking forward to trying this tonight. Never been one for the V8s myself but I'll drive what I can to get more races in. The lack of official races outside of the lower license classes is beginning to get me down!

Yeah that sucks a bit. If they do this right it could be one of the more popular ones I think though. Fingers crossed.

Weekend morning runs seem to be best for less mainstream races. That is the only time I can do the vette.

Yeah its frustrating. Ideally I would like to spend a couple of seasons in every road car on the service but as daytime races (even on weekends) are not possible for me its highly unlikely.

What time does the NTM update go online?

Next year, doesn't this COTF replace the body shapes or is it only the chassis/engine that is identical?

NTM on the V8 feels exactly the same, hate this fucking cars handling.
Was hoping it would hand like like the Vette or caddy after the update, bit no, still the same understeering bathtub.

I was reading an interview on the online simracing mag (dunno link, dunno how I found the article) where the iracing guy stated the COTF will be a different car to the current V8. I think they said they'll wait and see what the demand is for it before doing the COTF as they have other things in the pipeline.

I am actually glad to hear this because I felt it was pretty close to the mark already. Looking forward to trying it when I get home from work.

The caddy and vette are totally different animals.
