Laguna is good fun, had a race their earlier. Went from 8th to 3rd only to end up 5th after a quick rookie caught me near the end and immediately brake-checked me in the last turn. Very unpleasant!

Also, Tom Sullivan2 (who won) seems like the kind of guy you just want to punch in the teeth. Was going on over the mic like he was his own biggest fan. Which is no doubt the case.

Laguna turn 1; take the inside and if someone is steaming in behind you, brake much later and try and hang whomever's to your right out to dry. Hopefully they'll move... Or, play it safe and take the LONG way around on the outer, looking to the inside all the time for people going wide on the exit.

Does the Bodnar cable enhance the 'resolution' of the pedals? Are the standard calculations from the G25/AP Electrix not enough?

Yeah it increases it to 1024. Plus it then allows you to further customize it (deadzone, pressure etc)

Telstra are a sponsor for that program and have that logo on the back of the van as well...

I see! I'll grab one of them too. Any suggestions for where to get it? I might hop in the V8SC practise session after the start of the ROC at 9:10, I might just watch the beginning to see who survives.

Should be able to get one direct from Leo Bodnar. It is definitely essential IMO. The brake can actually do some strange things without it and you can't get the maximum pressure out of it.

I ordered a bunch of kit from Leo today. Hope it gets processed in a timely fashion - I've heard some pretty shocking reports of poor service i.e. people waiting months before bits arrive or they even get a receipt of order.

The hosted session then was nice, people seemed to be about the mid-2:14s. I got my fastest lap yet there with a set someone hosted; I'll add it to ze Google Docs!

Anyone up for another session? I'll host.

Edit: Started a session anyway.

That set is a lot more driveable with the rear ARB on 1-2 and full fuel..

joining the hosted now.

Yeah the hosted set felt nice and stable.

Still struggling to get deep into the 13's. Average time seems to be in the 14's.

BTW Matt. I may have to correct you on those gears you gave me. Staying in 4th through 13A is good. But seems to me that going down to 2nd at 14 is faster than staying in 3RD. Helps with turn in and the push out. The same for 12, should be taken in 2nd.

For sure, 12 is always a 2nd proposition!

Haven't really tried 14th in 2nd with the V8; you can stay really wide for an early entry and pick up the power well before the apex in 3rd but if you're not on that line I wouldn't be surprised if 2nd is better (because you'll need more acceleration out of it).

But then it's more about how it's going to affect your shifting up the hill at the begining of the straight because you should be aiming to change at the crest so you aren't going up the hill with lower revs.

But I only know from aero cars and this V8 monster still scares me.
