Default A nomination.....

I thought we might not do this until next year and make the award 'ceremony' on Anzac Day for extra meaning - but I feel we have a standout case that requires an exception.

I, Mitsimonsta, hereby nominate Assm@n for the Team 24 Folding Hall of Fame.
  • For selflessly contributing more than his fair share of points over a long period of time, and at a great personal cost.
  • For not lying down and accepting the status quo. For always pushing for more, for better, for ramp. For only accepting one outcome, the duck back in Team 24 hands.
  • For instigating the revival of our team by lighting the fire under our 'Ass' and stoking the fire until we had the passion back again.
  • For setting himself a goal, and then smashing it. Not just once, but consistently.
  • For being the first in our team to achieve 1 million points per week by a massive margin.
  • For making the incredible achievement of becoming the highest single contributor in a week, as a personal folder.
Assm@n is a selfless team member whose contribution does not just stop at the points. He does alot of work in the background, recruiting throughout the forums, giving his time and knowledge to help new folders, testing configurations, and giving a nudge to the stats of those who need it. I only have more admiration for him for some of his acts around the forums, notably a self-requested ban after Teddy needed to moderate a post due to some strong language.

When you take into account his location and some of the challenges, costs and other issues it brings - most of which we would never even dream about in Australia and New Zealand - then your realise that what he has done for us as a team is worth ten times the points. He empowered us and gave us our self-respect back, and instilled a belief that we can achieve our goals, and then proved it to us. For that we owe him everything.

He is my brother. I commend this nomination to the team.

Dedication Link

I think the following image is the only justification required for the big man's admittance:

Im fairly sure the 'ayes' will have it.

The contribution - mindblowing. The cost - must be horrific. The results - speak for themselves. The thing that really does it for me is - not just the impact on T24, but the impact on the overall F@H project.

Yes indeed. Never was an award more richly deserved and may I pass on my regards for his selfless devotion to a cause of great good to us all. Congratulations Assman!

ANZAC day?
Don't you think it is going a bit far to compare a hobby that a few of us have to all those young men that died fighting for Australia/NZ?

I don't see any "comparisons" going on. Mits has just picked a good day to be handing out awards etc. A day of national spirit that celebrates what it is to be australian and the Australian New Zealand alliance.

Anyhow, plus one for the nomination to me, he's a true champion for the team.

We fight the fight against these diseases in their spirit (or at least try our hardest to).

The fact we would give out or bestow these awards on that date is a respectful way of taking stock of the sacrifices we have made in our fight, as we remember those brave young men that made the ultimate sacrifice for their respective countries.

Anyone that goes away to fight for their country has my undying respect.

LOL, I'm sure everyone else in the Hall of Fame didn't take offence to that at all!

I don't think anyone ever really disagrees with adding someone to the Hall of Fame...it doesn't cost anything. The only arguement people might make is that it loses it's exclusivity as the ranks swell but A$$man certainly appears to be a deserving member!
