Anyone know if the DS TV tuner will work in Australia?
Im in Japan at the moment and have seen these around, but don't really want to buy something that isn't going to work. I figure that my chances are pretty slim. |

actually we are talking digital format here, we do DVB-T (US uses ATSC). not sure the digital format in japan normally but from memory that ds tuner is using DVB-H (handheld) format which is a bit of a rarity broadcast format. your chances of using it here are indeed buckleys id say. would love to be proven wrong but as i understand it it is not a compatible format.

It uses a system called 1seg:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1seg This is ISDB-T, not DVB-T like we have here. It's mainly used in Japan, whereas DVB-T is more widespread. |
