If they did have it they, they dont have it now.

As it could be awhile b4 it gets here i have been looking at alternitives.

First there is GA-EG45M-DS2H however this is only a PCIe x4 1.0 board. If you goto the Gigabyte Australia site it says that it is PCIe x16 2.0 but it is wrong. It is only PCIe x4 1.0. Confirmed by the Taiwan site. No good if you are going to add a graphics card.

Then there is P5Q-EM(G45 chip) or the P5QL-EM(G43 chip) but the P5Q-EM which is the better one to get is not here. It is PCIe x16 2.0.

So who gets it in first.... DFI or ASUS I will get it.

Cheers

The ASUS P5Q-EM and the P5QL-EM both have only 1x PCIe 16 and 2x 1x slots, theres no second 8x or 16x slot.

Unless im missing something quite major.

And PC Case Gear are currently expecting the DFI at the end of the this month, hope my GA-G33M-DS2R lasts that long, has some serious boot issues now, seems they all go this way, this is my 3rd one.

Hi Nexus,

Your exactly right. they are not for SLI or x-fire. Its just they were alternitavie and are P45. Im not going to run x-fire but wanted PCIe x16 with 2.0 The Asus did that.

But if the DFI is out by the end of this month that would be great. PCcasegear said that the Asus P5Q-EM would not be out till mid september to end september.

Yer, scorptec are telling me 2 weeks too.

I think DFI underestimated the demand for a board like this.

I want the 2nd slot to be at least 4x, for my SATA raid card.

Hi Nexus,

I called scorptec to get the price on the board and they had to followup with their supplier and they advised that the board is not coming to Australia.

I hope this is not true and someone is wrong somewhere. Who is the importer for DFI in Australia? Anyone know

Nexus,

It all comes down to who you speak to. I just called Altech. They should be coming to Australia within a month. $229 retail

I called the person who I spoke to at scorptec back. He just got his information off the product manager only who was wrong. he is going to slap him aroung for providing the wrong information .

The manual seems to suggest the two PCIeX16 slots are always running at X8. Specifically it says:

• 2 PCI Express (Gen 2) x16 slots
- 2-way CrossFire: One slot operating at x8 (8-lane port) or
two slots each operating at x8 (8-lane ports) bandwidth

That's a point in favor of the Asus board. That and the Asus has a newer (better?) sound chip and firewire.

Got this board today

More info here - http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...d.php?t=706460

Edit: Just spoke to the distie, can give a bit of insider info to what's going on - there's 2 disties for this board, 1 distie has ordered an amount down purely for PC Maniacs, the other distie has ordered stock but they are getting there boards shipped by sea, the boards have only been able to ship from DFI tommorow (6 weeks for sea), PC Maniacs stock is coming from the other distie who ordered by air, little bit more expensive but here in 3 days not 6 weeks.

Apprently PC M price will be going up once stock arrives but is currently honoring his pre orders which i think are like 1/2 his stock thats coming. With the dollar and the discount in shipping in 6 weeks time the board should be probably the same price as PC Maniacs today price.

Hope that makes a bit of sense
