Default Which laptop to buy?

Hey guys, this is one of my first proper posts on OCAU that isn't in the for sale section where I could say I'm most active. Anyways, I'm looking to buy a new laptop a couple of weeks from now and would like a definite idea on what to work towards.

I will be using it primarily for gaming, the most graphically-intensive game I play is Call of Duty 4, apart from that the second most would be Team Fortress 2. I don't mind weight or battery power as I will rarely be using it unplugged. I'm buying it for convenience as I live in Beechboro and most of the LANs I go to are around 40 minutes away (Joondalup). As I'm only 17 and don't have my liscence, carpooling at times can be a hassle, and the places I go to are accessible by train.

Anyways, to the point.
  • Gaming
  • Budget $1500, can vary up to $200 if there's a big step.
  • Size doesn't matter, however, the bigger the better
  • Doesn't need HDMI or a fingerprint reader
What I've been looking at is the Dell Studio 17. I really like the look of it and the features seem to accomodate everything I'm looking for, however I have doubts about the 3650's ability to run Call of Duty at a good framerate with everything on a nice detail level.

Cheers.

Rowan.
