I just got my eeepc done. I was impressed with the communication and turn around. Total turn around probably 1.5 weeks, including courier from Melbourne to Sydney and back. They ended up having to do a full software restall and then when that failed they replaced the motherboard. Without the motherboard thing the turn around would have been less than a week.

as long as it's still under warranty and you can provide proof of purchase etc yeah.

yep they arrange for their courier people to call you and organise a suitable time for you. All you gotta do is box it and address it.

yeh i just got some work done on my laptop. its about 22months old and the screen hinge was broken, same as the left click mouse button and they replaced them both. Dropped it off at the shop i purchased it at and 9 days later got a call saying it was back from repair. very happy. screen even has dead pixels and the guy at the shop said they will replace it as well. so gonna drop it off and get it all fixed before it gets out of waranty.

Cheers Joel

do we have to take it back to the place we purchased from or drop it off at the repair centre or will they actually collect it from my house as well?

im not sure if the person above was able to get courier... only because he had to get it fixed in sydney (when he lives in melb)?

Because I bought it initially from MSY and they tend to disown stuff after 90 days I didn't even bother talking to them I found it easier to go straight to Asus. I just called the aussie service/tech support at Asus (found on their website) and they told me that all work (at least for the eeepc) had to be done in their sydney branch which is somewhere off Paramatta Rd. If it is under warranty you shouldn't have to deliver it anyway no matter where the lappy is being sent as pick up and delivery is covered Aussie wide.

My laptop LCD had a whole row of pixels go bad, stuck on white. I was told there was a 3rd party shop across the road from uni that do ASUS warranty repairs, so I took it into there and they replaced it within the week no problems. Total Solutions on Burwood Rd, Glenferrie if anyone is wanting to know

Hey there.

Just wondering where you found that out. I'm in Adelaide, and I was hoping there would be a store that offers the same kind of service. Would be be nice to know I can pysically drop my comp off if I have any problams. Is there a list or anything where you can find this information out? Cheers

I originally took the laptop back to where I bought it and they said to take it to them, which was just down the road

in perth, mine took 5 weeks.

And thats with them getting someone in perth to repair it.
They were completely useless.

Also had two Asus mother boards die.. bought from some online shop with went bust and they made it pretty much impossible for me to get them replaces/fixed.

Sucks eh.
