Anyone got an opinion on the Aldi/Medion laptop available this week? Good value? Could do better?
Info at http://www.medion.de/ms/aldi/md96970/au/flash.html Features • Intel® CoreTM2 Duo Processor T5750, 2.0 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, FSB 667 MHz • 320GB hard drive • Massive 3GB Memory • NVIDIA® GeForce® 9300M G DirectX® 10 graphic with 128MB GDDR3 memory • Biometric fingerprint sensor for ultimate security • Fast Ethernet 10/100 Mbit/s • 8x Multi-Standard DVD/CD Writer with DVD-RAM and Dual layer compatibility • Intel® Wireless WiFi Link-wireless-N with up to 300Mbit/s 802.11b/g compatible • HDMI Digital Audio/Video Out • Windows Vista® Home Premium I've been wanting a semi-decent laptop with HDMI and SPDIF out for a while. It'll serve time as a media player plugged into the plasma, but also away from home as a media machine and general work thing. No bluetooth, lowish spec processor hold me back. 2yr warranty. |

Thanks Nafe. The ASUS M51VR looks good too, from what info I can find. Its not on the ASUS site. HN quoted $1400 for the 046C flavour this morning, I think too much of a premium over the Medion.
