Default Mo-flo

Has anybody had much experience using mo-flo for various interesting purposes?

I tried reacting it with sugar, it's clearly H2SO4, but the reaction seems fairly crap, the pillar of carbon is pathetic compared to what I've seen before.

Is it really pure H2SO4, or is there crap in it which affects its reactivity? Is there any way to purify it, or clarify it?

Has anybody tried using it for, say, electrophilic aromatic substitution, or for organic nitration?

Welcome to the world of drain cleaners

I have never used it but plenty of people use products like it for a variety of processes (mixing it with nitrate salts and doing various nitrations). It is most likely waste acid that has had a dye added to it. People have had success adding H2O2 to it to remove the dye coloring and then letting the H2O2 decompose in sunlight.

Concentrations are around 90%, don your favorite safety gear and give it a boil if you need it to be stronger.

All of this is from what I can remember from the various posts coming from people who have used it.
