I'm pretty sure its 10 simultaneous activations. So you can use the same key on up to 10 machines at the same time. On some downloads you can always click 'Get' and it will give you another key.

and from what I have heard if you do ring them they quite happily will reset the activations so you can keep going (within reason). Once a year, sure, once every 5 weeks... maybe not...

Anyone else having trouble signing up? When I click on buy/renew from the below link I receive a website cannot be found message.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-au/s...s/default.aspx

This has been happening for a few days, from work and home.

from what i understand, according to the licence you are only allowed to use the CD Keys for 1 year. after that, the keys become invalid.

However, nothing actually happens when the time runs out.

The terms of the Subscription allow the use of the keys for the length of your Subscription. Once it stops, then you are no longer entitled to use the keys.

however, they will not stop, expire (although you can't access them online) or be limited in any way...

If, you are subscribed and you use your key more than 10 times, you can just call up for activation..

oh... and subscription page is working OK. I just renewed with TNUSG1 code for Direct Plus for $310.... A New one is $435.

They also throw in a free month for choosing the Direct version as a reward for "saving the environment"..

From the technet downloads FAQ iteself -

Q: After my Subscription expires can I still download products and claim product keys?

A: Only Subscribers with active subscriptions can download products and claim product keys, so you will not be able to download products after your Subscription has expired.

You will be able to view Product Keys you had claimed while your Subscription was active, but you will not be able to claim new keys. In order to access your prior claimed keys, you will have to Sign in to Live ID using the account and Subscription information that you had used to access your subscription benefits and claim those keys.

NOTE: Based on program and agreement restrictions, some expired Volume License subscribers are not currently entitled to view their previously claimed keys.
So I'd say that even after your subscription expires they fully expect people to still use those keys.

I was finally able to signup. For some reason my old hotmail address wouldn't work so I had to register my gmail account.

But either way it's gone through!
