World at War is actually made by a different company than COD4. WaW is made by Treyarch and COD4 is made by Infinity Ward

well we're in a 4 pc lan environment, all have collectors editions preordered and we can't even play the beta, one person at a time, or.... a second person logs onto a server it crashes the modem instantly....
no other games gives this modem issues, and it's the split second they click connect on the second pc it reboots the modem... we have tried everything and are now 4 agitated peeps wondering will this continue into final release and blow our 400 bucks... anyone have any ideas?

I like it, except the server keeps playing up.
I think the maps are good and there seems to be more teamwork going on. I didn't expect it to be much more than a COD4 mod with a few tweaks here and there, and that's all it is really. Some weapons issues, but I understand there are going to be changes for retail version (either on release or patch) I like the WW2 theme, I hope Vietnam is next

A) half the rifles have a rifle nade attachment... so the game is going to turn to shit as soon as people hit the appropriate levels. B) smg/mg rate of fire and damage make using a rifle pretty pointless. C) half the smg/mg's have an expanded-clip attachment, which just makes it even more spammy and skilless. So basically.. it's as noob-friendly as CoD4... not really a great game for competitive play. Maps are still pretty excellent though.

Loving the game but have a problem where about 50% of the time I launch the game.. the problem is where it launches, chews up to 250mb of ram, and then just stops loading. (Vista 64).
Very frustrating

So essentially (haven't played it yet, too busy with other games) the multiplayer is average, right?
From what I've seemed to pickup the maps are decent, but everything else seems to be average (which is what I thought would happen). |
