Wonderful imagery. I fear, though, that that kind of spontaneous street imagery is left to the realm of those, like Bruce, who have very thin ethics (as well as a few other things).

I don't think it would be any less safe doing it here. Whether one is prepared for the inevitable repercussions, though...

I'd imagine he would get more of a negative reaction from Aussies. New yorkers are probably more use to intrusiveness living so close to each other

Most of the shots are older people as i think the young ones would move out the way when someone is trying to shot.

I think he preys on the elderly - they're less likely to fight back.
I'd like to see him that his type of photography to the 'hood...

Last image he ever takes will look something like:

Now THAT's a 'magnum' photograph...

haha.
I do think though that over the years he has figured out which people will give him the most grief and has learnt to keep out of their way.
I found that video quite interesting actually how he uses an external light meter, and his use of flash with rangefinder and and a large DOF. I like alot of his angles, he rarely seems to be above eye level.
His images are interesting in a way, but nothing amazing. Definately not up there with the greats.
He looks kinda creepy too...

his 'get in your face' shooting style wouldn't win him any points here...

I'm not sure it's neccessary to lunge at people when you're shooting at them unless you're trying to get a defensive reaction from them.

had this video bookmarked for months (from some blog post) before i actually saw it last week. i didn't know what to make of him. a bit too in your face for my liking and i wouldn't be surprised or upset if he got his gear smashed on a regular basis. only in NY would they put up with something like this.

It could almost be considered a form of assault wouldnt it? I was given the impression that you dont technically need to touch anyone to assault them, just an agressive motion is enough.
Im probably wrong though.

love the results, just not sure that the methods are to be assioated with long term survival!

At about 2.48 you can hear him give someone a lot of shit for not liking their photo taken.

Now that is the kind of guy I would like to go shooting for a day with.

Sure it's questionable, possibly aggressive, but he knows what he is looking for. Good to see someone interacting with the street, for better or worse.

"Don't smile, keep walking"

That's how I feel sometimes when people stop to avoid walking through my frame...even though I want to be ignored!

hahaha - same
The amount of times I've said 'please walk through my shot!' I think they may think I'm being sarcastic...
