Talking Cool Aid!!!!!!!

COOL AID !!!!!!!

My friend just got back from the States, and brought me back some COOL AID - GRAPE FLAVOUR!!!!

For those of you who dont know, cool aid is this elite stuff which is like powdered cordial, but tastes heaps better (contains mainly citric acid and other flavoursome and nasty ingrediants!)

Does anyone know where I can get cool aid from in Perth!?

Forget juice, forget cordial, COOL AID 4 LIFE.!

Hi there skylord,

I'm not sure about Perth, but you can order Kool Aid (and other neat American products) on this website: http://www.usafoods.com.au

LOL I practically grew up drinking Kool Aid (I'm an American)...of course, my parents would only buy the tasteless sugar-free flavors like "Tropical Punch" and "Mountain Berry". hehehe. But there was incentive: back then each package carried a certain amount of points, which you could cash in for merchandise. Gosh...I'll never forget the day I finally saved up enough points for the talking Kool Aid Man doll.

Ahh...memories.

how do i tell which ones are sugar free?

and for mixing, is it a 'just add water' thing?
and how much does each pack make? (they say 1 to 2 quarts?)

i want sugary flavoured water

also, whats the diff between the magic and normal flavours?

cheers

Sugar-Free Kool Aid will say "Sugar Free" right on the package.

Each package makes 2 quarts (about 1/2 L, give or take a few ml. hehehehe). Mixing...well, depends on what form it comes in. If you get the small packages (that just say "Kool Aid" and whatever flavor), you'll need to add some sugar. Sometimes it comes pre-mixed (sugar + mix), but that's in a bigger package, hehehehe. Sugar-free, of course, is "just add water". hehehehe.

I think, "Magic" Kool-Aid turns different colors when you mix it up.

I can't remember exactly how much sugar you're supposed to add to make the regular Kool Aid packages, but in the few times I've made it, I never had a problem getting it to dissolve.

Yeah...the USA Foods site could do better with product descriptions (I guess they figure that their clientele knows what these things are already, hehehe). If you have any other questions about any other product, feel free to PM me. hehehehe.

adding sugar to the cold water was never a problem

usually about half-1 cup of white sugar is needed, i usually use castor sugar because its so fine, and easily stirs in.

I think they put a chemical in it which makes the sugar stir in easily, or mabye its just the citric acid?

OMG! I just tried Kool-Aid.

I agree, hard to go back to regular aussie cordial. Got mine from usafoods.com.au. So far i've had the Watermellon and Cherry Flavour and it's great!

And yes, standard mix is 2L cold water, 1 pkt kool-aid with 1 cup white sugar. The good thing is you can add however much sugar you want (or don't want) and I suppose you could put in artificial sweetner if your're diabetic or on a diet.

KOOL AID FTW!

Sounds a lot like 'our' 'Tang'? (Tang and cool aid are both owned by kraft, incidentaly)

Kool Aid is pretty much like Tang, but Tang is not "ours".

OMG How much sugar???

That is just ridiculous. You might as well just drink soft drink, it's probably healthier for you.

Okay, so at the recommended levels of sugar it works out to about 12.5g/100mls. McDonald's Coke is 8-9g/100ml.

I was right, soft drink is better for you (at least in terms of sugar) than Kool-Aid made as per directions.
