What are the advantages of having a Dolby Digital decoder amplifier (ones the come with the speakers)?
If the sound card allready has Dolby Digital decoder built in there there is no use of buying speakers that come with Dolby Digital decoder amplifier? am i right? So if im getting the soundblaster live de 5.1, there is no use of getting speakers that have Built-in decoder or Dolby Digital decoder amplifier, rite?. Thanx

The built in decoder just affords you some convenience. You will only need one cable to plug em all in (take the digital out) hence the signal will also be digital so of higher quality. But i wouldnt worry about it, its not like you will notice it through a sblive.

when teh SB lIve converts to analog there can be a lot of noise (hiss) added to the signal by the computer components such as the harddrive and fans with motors (magnets) the hiss isn't really noticeable though but having the digital out is far better
