Default Need a good phone...but not a iphone!

Gday everyone ive been hunting around for a new phone and am not quite sure what to get....

I am liking the look of phones that have a QWERT keyboard, such as the Nokia N810..
Something that has a nice amount of down loadable software and decent storage space. Might as well double up as a mp3 player aye?

If anyone has any recommendations please post them up Not wanting to spend much more then $500~ But if its good ill pay.

I will be replacing my Siemens SK65 with this phone early next year.

Heap of videos on the F700 as well detailing features

Ah bugger. only thing i dont like is it doesn't have wireless lan

But yea something that has a qwert keyboard, and a decent operating system that has a nice community behind it. Get some emulators/roms loaded onto it!

btw: what makes you want the samsung? The nokia has more features like gps and wireless and is also cheaper i believe :S

Plus it has a open source o/s...some linux based one.

The E71 has the qwerty, the wifi, and the S60 for symbian software. It's pushing the $500 budget though (retail).
Mp3 player of course, and 8GB compatible microSD card slot.

Worth a look. You'll get one brand new for $500 on ebay.

I just got an E71 to compliment my iPhone. It's one of the best Nokia's I've ever owned. It does most of what my old N95 did, but it has querty and better email support.

What do you use your iphone for and what do you use the e71 for?

I'm looking at the E71 at the moment. I have an iPod touch and really don't want to duplicate a heap of functions between them.

I went the Samsung I617t

http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/d...SGH-I617ZKATEL

Very happy with it.
Windows mobile 6.1 OS.

keep in mind it was released in the US a year ago and it has no flash.
Specs say 4Gb MicroSD, but mine's working fine with 8 gb.

My iPhone is my personal phone. Does my personal email, calendar, etc.

E71 has my company SIM in it, and it has no data plan (cheapskates!). It does work calls only, right now. It also syncs with Outlook for all my work-related stuff.

The E71 is far more flexible than the iPhone in terms of what software it can run, but the interface isn't quite as polished. It's noticably faster, though.

I haven't tried over wireless, my work SIM has no data plan provisioned. I'm talking about plugging it into my work PC and letting Nokia PC suite do it's magic.

If it had WiFi, I would put the cash on the table for one!
