Hell yeah it's worth it I think the difference will be apparent once the gpus are maxed. that cpu score is only marginally below what I got with a qx9650 @ 4.6ghz

I was having boot problems because of Tri channel. I have no problems with only 1 stick. Maybe i will try dual channel.

Edit just found out that my problems were not with tri channel.

Finally i think i have mastered this Gigabyte EX58 Extreme. Easy Tune 6 doesn't work in Vista but it works like a treat in XP Home.

Testing 4GHz right now.

The V8 and GA Extreme +ram cooler and cable tied SSD is head turning modernism.
These 920's set ups @ and looking good. Wots the max a 965 can do again?
As iv said before temps are abit high but it a big cpu gordz

I just read a reveiw of the v8 cooler which is called this cause of the black cover to keep in air flow "hence"
I thought and keeped away from this when first came out cause of iot being refrigerated by a wc or somthing.
But its not.. Silly me.
It a good cooller design @

I put the V8 as an equal to TRUE120 and TuniQ Tower 120. I have all 3.

So I just built my new beast yesterday afternoon. I don't benchmark my system, so no screenshots. Anyway, the specs:

Core i7 920, stock speed and cooling for now.
ASUS P6T Deluxe (not the OC/PALM version).
3 x 2GB G.Skill 10600 DDR3.
ASUS 9800GX2 GPU.
WD Raptor 150gb.
Some Coolermaster 1GW PSU whose model I can't remember.

Only the CPU, RAM and MOBO are new; the rest is carried over from my C2D (which has been rebuilt into a new box with some older shelved parts). All up, it runs everything I'm playing right now just fine, so I won't mess around with overclocking the beast until later in its life. Anyway, for now it seems that the GPU is the performance bottleneck, so it'll be next in line for an upgrade.

With some stores listing these under $600 now ($549 here) they are looking like a viable option to a high end Yorkfield. All we need is resonably priced mobos and rams.

still ~$1500 for i7, 6gb memory and mobo, is a bit too much for me! Then on top of that a descent video card, power supply, storage etc, that is one expensive sucker.
