Question icq sending/recieving via proxy?

hi,

ive got 3 machines running via a hub and sygate home network (wasnt such a fan of 98se ICS). My question is how do i setup the other computers so as they are able to recieve files via icq? they seem to have no trouble sending it but when it comes to recieving the sender always encounters a "connection can not be established" error...

any ideas?

cheers!

I had the same problem myself...

Used to use Sygate but use ICS under W2K now...

If you're running a firewall or anything you have to open the icq port (usually 5190)...

This should fix it...

Wink

What form of proxy are ya using

I know ICQ works though Socks and HTTP

Try both to see if that works.

My advice would be to setup a router with and old computer or something of the like

All ya have to do it setup the firewall (if ya use one) on the router to allow ICQ ports to be forwarded.

I hope this helps
