Default Dell Price Increase of 30% Next Week!

Folks, Ive had a heads up from my Account Manager at Dell that theyre increasing Prices on most things including laptops, desktops etc by 30% next week.

Now I would normally call BS as my Manager is trying to close a sale on me atm and he threw this up in the air, however I know that Lenovo & HP both increased by similar margins earlier this month.

Anyone else got the low down?

JK

i'd like to see an article on this... i wonder if it affects everything or just select items in their range. I hope their monitors dont go back up - they're at such a good price at the moment. You used to have to pay a "dell tax" to get a 24" monitor, now the prices are actually decent!

30% price rise could kill alot of business for Dell. Other makers prices have increased prices but nothing like 30%,except harvey norman whos markups increases seem to have no relation to anything it seems.

Would this increase be across the entire product range including monitors?

What makes you think Apple's price won't go up?

Dell's Hedge on the dollar just called in.

Cisco did a similar thing (raising prices across the board by 15%) not too long ago.

Because they recently did.

That does kinda suck, I've been trying to get my brother to buy a laptop (so he stops using the parents' desktop), and a Dell would be a decent option.

I don't think Dell would increase their prices by 30%.

Reason being, if they did I certainly would not buy anything from them and I'm sure other consumers wouldn't as well.
