Default eeepc battery problem. help?

eeepc slipped from hand and hit table. distance barely 7mm. however, eeepc cant start/use battery anymore. when battery + ac in, its charging. light flash charging. however, when i pull ac out, eeepc turns off.

any help on what the issue is and how to fix?

Note to self - Make sure you dont drop your eeepc.

didnt drop it as such.
slipped out f my hand, and extreme right end of battery/eeepc "hit" table after falling a distance of 7mm (that's less than 1 cm) before I caught it back. didn't realise it would turn out this bad.

also, just before that occured, mybatery was running on <7% and went to standby. i actually needed to do some stuff quickly and resumed from standby. however, my apps froze and battery was running even lower. so i forced switch off (holding down power button). then i put it in the sleeve then the eeepc somehow got out from the sleeve and fell and u know the rest....

any idea/help?

You could try another battery. Maybe the knock broke a solder contact on the motherboard for the battery, in which case another battery isn't going to help, but... worth a try.

i can only buy a new battery to do that :/ ill try have asus have a look at it next week.
