Hey Guys,
I'm looking to get a laptop mainly for work. There's so many brands out there and each one has hundreds of models/sub models, it's so hard to know where to start looking let alone which to get. I was hoping someone may already have a good idea on what's out there. I do a bit of travelling and would like something with a good battery life so I can be productive on plane trips. I will also be using it at desks when I'm away from the main office (which is almost 50% of the time at the moment) so I don't want an ultra portable. Probably around 14.1" - 15.4". I don't do anything super processor intensive, mainly just MS Office and a few internet based apps. I'd like a decent Core2Duo though with at least 2Gb of RAM, also I'd rather the option of an XP downgrade (not a big Vista fan). I'm looking to spend no more than $2k plus MS Office (so about $2.5k max with office). Any starting point would be appriciated (even just a good cost effective brand) a specific model to look at would be greatly appriciated! |

Check out the Dell Studio 15's
www.dell.com.au Otherwise HP make pretty solid laptops, you'll get something very nice around the 2k mark. |
