Hi everyone.
I'm interested in getting an Antec Minuet 350 case -based system for a friend, but I'm a bit worried about the noise levels of the 350W Earthwatts PSU and the general noise of the rest of the PC with that case. She currently has an old Athlon Barton 2500+ CPU-based system in a barebones case (Shuttle of some kind), and detests the noise of the system - in the summer heat it gets quite warm and thus the fans spin up ever louder trying to combat the heat... and we end up with one noisy computer. Anyway, this new PC is hopefully quieter... It'll be running a E5200 or E7300 CPU with (most probably) a stock heatsink, with an Intel motherboard (Intel BLKDQ45CB), 2x2GB DDR2-800 RAM, a single 640GB "Greenpower" Western Digital HDD, and a Pioneer DVDRW optical drive. Specifically I'd like to know if this case/PSU combination is any louder than any other 'decent' PC. She's been comparing this PC with one of the cheap slim Dell towers, of which I also have no experience with. *sigh* This system I've come up with is a bit cheaper/better than the cheap Dell... so I'd like to try it out if I can, but I'd hate to end up with another noisy computer. It doesn't have to be 'silent'... just quieter than her current AMD based Shuttle PC. If anyone has experience with this case and could tell me about it, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
