hmm, is there any CPU's out there that would even keep up with a GTX295 SLI setup or are they just trying to make an ultimate all in 1 card that dose not need SLI?

I wonder how much higher the clocks on the gtx 285 cards are going to be. I estimate it at about 650 core stock clock.

With the amount of heat issues that Nvidia are having I wouldn't be surprised if they released it closer to 580Mhz.

Finally, another option besides the thermonuclear 4870x2. But no GDDR5 is a strange option this far along in the game..

Unlikely, on my single 4870X2, my 4GHz E8500 leaves the X2 enough time to do 4xAA @ 1920x1200 on most games without even dropping in FPS. It's good though, having an absolute shitload of GPU power. It's easy to overclock a CPU and i've never found much gain in overclocking a GPU, so having that power ready to go from the start is good.

So it looks like a kind of weird hybrid between a 55nm gtx280 x2 (as far as the sps are concerned, clocks are another matter) but has the memory and bandwidth of a gtx260, (2x896 mb / bit)

480 sps! *drools*
