Default Asus Notebook with Vista - Can I run WinXP? Which Drivers?

Hi,

I've been given my Christmas present early - an Asus Pro50G laptop, but it's got Vista on it... and I want to know if I can run XP on it (or maybe I'll go for Linux.. yeah!)

Anyway, here's my problem: The laptop is model number PRO50G, and has a barcode on the bottom with PRO50GL-AP059C on it, and it also has on the same back label "MB Ver.: F5GL"

Now, I cannot find a PRO50G on the Asus website. There is a PRO50GL when you dig around, but it didn't seem to be the same as my laptop. In the Business laptops sectioni there is a F5GL, and it looks the same and is specced very very closely to mine.

What I'm wondering is, does anyone else here have one of these laptops and can verify which drivers I should use? The F5GL comes with Vista, but is listed as compatible with XP and Vista.

Finally, should I stop being such a big girl and just learn Vista?

Collin
