I placed an order for a laptop from lenovo last month, they keep telling me that they have no power adaptors available, and want to ship me the laptop without the adaptor, which is pointless. They cant even give me a date when they will have them in stock, been calling for 3 weeks now trying to get an answer.
![]() How can they be out of power adaptors? They must sell hundreds of these things. I tried to get the same one from other sources but cant find anyone that stocks the same model adaptor. Just found this http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/248931 I would not order from here again and may be cancelling my order. Last edited by RB44; 19th December 2008 at 11:44 AM. |

is this the system in Australia?
i find it hard to believe they don't have adapters as it's the same one since the the T60... and the Lenovo 3000... and the Z60...

I think they are lying about the adaptors, hundreds of stories like this on the web, should have done my research before. I called back to get the unit shipped which is the advise from other lenovo customers to see what they say (been told the adaptor excuse is givin alot) and they now said they cant ship the computer without contacting manfacturing and seeing if its complete and all parts available, WTF.- They told me is was ready 2 weeks ago and just waiting on the adaptor. Also forgot to mention they already shipped me the battery and charged me for it!! Last edited by RB44; 19th December 2008 at 12:22 PM. |

I have a cupboard full of them here at work
![]() but yeah surely they must have some... the 4 notebook models we use currently here (T60, T61, X200 and T400) all use the same adapter... I can't believe they would run out of the things.

i dunno how that works
lenovo always do the same thing you get a box with the laptop + separate carrier for the battery and adapter + a localisation power cord + useless paperwork they wouldn't break things up and send separately? surely that makes logistics and tracking nightmare? i'm about to buy another lenovo (another one) and that surprises me

I'm glad I got my 3000 N200 from BigW now not from Lenovo direct.

I ordered an SL300 at the start of this month. Took around 2 weeks for it to arrive. Not sure if it uses the same power adapter. All went fairly smoothly for me. Guess I got lucky.

They might be having trouble with MEPS... http://www.energyrating.gov.au/eps2.html
Unfortunately the Govt made a bit of a mess of this one and didn't give companies very long to do the paperwork required... I expect many international companies that have a relatively small Australian presence would be having trouble with this. |
