dead hdd's:(

Hey all, i did a format yesterday (XP) and left my computer on over night installing SP3 and when i got up i found two of my hdd's failed!! One's a 300gb Seagate barrcuda, that one won't spin up and the others a 320gb WD Caviar but this one claims to be 'unallocated' (through computer management). I know the Seagate is probably lost to me and i'll just RMA it, but is there any chance i could recover the WD? thanks guys.

Go to the Seagate website and download seatools, burn it to a CD and run it (boot from it when your PC starts by setting your CD drive as first boot device) with both drives connected, run the drive tests and then try the other options like reset capacity to maximum then if it passes that format and try reinstalling XP.

eh.... that's what i get for not proof reading my posts

the Seagate WON'T spin up. cause of that the pc won't POST with the drive in there. So i can't use any software to test it

p.s take the hdd to a mates place + seagate testing software(download it from your mateds place.. plug hdd in his computer, then (if it spens + detects) test it..

it could also be something else?
