I clustered them together and use the heat generated to make popcorn. I can tell what tasks are running by the rate of the popping.

It was a bulk-buy. I took advantage of Big W's $398 deal on old 40GB stock about a month ago by going to Big W in Bathurst and bought all their stock - 11 machines. I already had 9 buyers handy, so I just had to sell two more (which I did through OCAU).

its really sad that in November 2007 I picked up a 40gb PS3 in Singapore for $400, and a DS3 controller for $60.

Since then, Sony Singapore has increased the retail price on PS3's, and PS3's are now more expensive for consumers than they were over 1.5 years ago...

does not compute

I think a lot of people are forgetting about the economic crisis - prices for a lot of electronic gear has gone up over the last two to three months no thanks in part to the value of the AUD, after all, it IS all imported...

If anyone wants to buy a HK PS3 let me know. I want to sell it so I can buy a AU version.

Why is that? The HK machine should be the same as an AU machine for everything but movies, unless you're a big movie watcher...?

That is the problem Some movies are region locked. At the end of the day, someone who is happy to import the region locked movies (which most aren't) would be better off in the long run.

Someone on here also used to import dvd's and they said once the exchange rate is above 70 US cents then it becomes worthwhile.

I don't want the fuss of that. I almost kept your PS3 and sold this one, but the cash was too good.

Ring and find out. I doubt it somewhat since the margin on these machines is so small. The cost price to Sony is something like $500. Everything on top is divided up between Sony's profit, the vendor's profit (Joyce Mayne) and the cost of the shippers in between!

Depends on what price you start out with...

Take some time to visit a few stores and figure out what you want to buy, including any games and accessories.

Then go back and forth a few stores and see if they can drop the price a bit each time.
