If you have a prepaid iPhone locked to optus, will the soul / tpg sims work in it aswell since they run off the optus network too?

Default Iphone No Plan?

Hey guys my uncle wants me to buy him an iphone but from the Apple Store. I was wondering is it possible to buy an iphone just straight from the store or must it be on a plan with vodafone, telstra etc.

Thanks!

At the moment it's contract only. In America they have recently started selling the iPhones outright from the Apple retail stores. Maybe wait a month or three and we will be able to do the same thing here?

Changing the subject, just had a 1 hour skype to skype using my iphone on wifi... Worked wonderfully, great voice quality (much better than skype-to-go) not one connection hiccup, speaker phone even worked well. Also installed voipover3g and tried calling echo123 on 3G, seemed to work 100% fine, will need to test that out more. Skype on iphone FTW! (Yes phone software on a phone might sound silly, but if it does, you need to introduce yourself to skype).

It does void warranty. But the only way i believe they can catch you is if you have it jailbroken and you need to send it back to warranty for whatever reason, without restoring it.

Hmm if you've purchased several apprs and your phone dies, will the apps still work on the new replacement phone?

cheers

The downloads/purchases are linked to your account.

So you just download them again without any cost.

It'd be pretty risky, especially as your battery should still be under warranty?

There are guides on how to do it, but i wouldn't recommend it unless you have to..or are out of warranty.

I thought all iPhones had 12 months warranty, it hasn't been 12 months yet since release...

biteSMS 3.2 is out now with awesome new features.

One of the absolute best apps available through cydia (you do have to pay for it).

List of features (rest is same as normal sms app) - http://www.bitesms.com/main/more_features

Quote:
Quick Reply
Imagine you're browsing the Internet and an SMS comes in. With Quick Reply there's no need to quit Safari, start biteSMS, reply, and then return to Safari! Just reply straight away and keep browsing!

Quick Compose
Browsing the Internet and suddenly remember you need to send an SMS? Send one with Quick Compose without quiting the browser – press Volume Up, then tap "Quick Compose SMS". Easy!

Quick Call

Tip: you can use Quick Compose to quickly call someone without quitting the app you're in. First go to Quick Compose, pick a recipient, and then, instead of typing a message, tap "Call". Neat.
Also SwirlyMMS is now available through the Cydia store
